German term
gelagert
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Motion control
Context:
"Führungszylinder (gelagert, drehbar)
...
Sie lassen sich um Xmm ausfahren und besitzen einen hochfesten, verschleißarmen gelagerten, drehbaren Ring um die Führungsschiene an dem Tisch aufzunehmen."
Cf.: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/4533556
I'm thinking of 'embedded' (cf. http://www.linguee.com/english-german/search?sourceoverride=... ), but I'm not really too sure about it. The existing answer here in KudoZ (http://www.proz.com/kudoz/731306 ) doesn't seem relevant to me.

* Document type: Performance specifications
* Target audience: Mechanical engineers

Selected
rotatably mounted
(You cannot be more specific than this and still be correct.) The author is not stating by what means the cylinder is rotatably mounted. The implication is a frictionless type of bearing, but it could be a simple oil bearing, an air bearing, etc. The bearing could be on the cylinder or on the surrounding structure.

Note from asker:
Is it enough on its own, or would it be better to say "rotatably mounted in a bearing"? |
