Espero que estéis genial. Estoy traduciendo una demo de un juego que se llama Backbeat, que consiste en resolver puzzles pero a través de un trasfondo musical y no le encuentro el significado a la palabra Stagger. El texto que tengo es el siguiente:
CLIFF: I think it's time you guys tried introducing a little Stagger into your music.
CLIFF: Like Toshi, try changing directions just before or after Watts. Let her follow your lead, and sometimes she'll follow yours.
CLIFF: If you don't have room to maneuver, Rest for a minute. Sometimes in music silence is more important than sound.
TOSHI: Turn at different times, sometimes take a Rest to give someone else a chance to turn. I can keep a record of our turns in the Timeline with a triangle to indicate each one.
CLIFF: That's a good idea. When those triangles overlap in the timeline, you're losing Stagger, so you want to keep them from overlapping.
TOSHI: We can also keep track of our shared Stagger resource by the meter in the lower right corner of the screen. When you're out of musical resources, you can't play anymore.

Stagger es como un tipo de movimiento clave dentro del juego, al igual que Rest (Pausa).

Por lo que he entendido del vídeo, se trata de que una especie de puzzle en el que los los músicos deben llegar al escenario más o menos acompasadamente (construyendo una ruta en la que los personajes lleguen por tres rutas distintas haciendo coincidir sus giros y más o menos a la vez).
Parece que ongame el objetivo es entrar haciendo un paseíllo molón que impresione al público; eso sería el recurso llamado "stagger". Me da que aquí stagger tiene el sentido que dejar atónito al público, dejarlo pasmado, asombrar...

Sí, me fijé en el marcador también (abajo dcha, a ese te refieres?), y eso me dio la idea de lo que quería decir la cosa en realidad: dejar al público flipado con la entrada de los músicos, algo por otra parte típico, relativamente, en muchos shows.
Parece que ongame el objetivo es entrar haciendo un paseíllo molón que impresione al público; eso sería el recurso llamado "stagger". Me da que aquí stagger tiene el sentido que dejar atónito al público, dejarlo pasmado, asombrar...

Sí, después de darle bastantes vueltas creo que pondré algo en la línea de "pasmo", ya que también tienes un contador "de pasmosidad" que, si se vacía, no te deja seguir, así que hay que darle ese buen rollo para impresionar a la gente y ganar más fans. ¡Gracias! |

Es una propuesta dado el significado del término en cuestión y que el extranjerismo que aporto, si bien tiene traducción al español, también se usa, significa algo parecido y está ligado a la música.
