Esta palabra me tiene loco. El contexto es el desecho de desperdicios peligrosos, como catalizadores derramados en la construcción de piscinas. Aquí algunas frases:

Hola Armando, buenas tardes. Estuve buscando un poco en el contexto de construcción de piscinas de fibra de vidrio y creo qué sé lo que buscas. Para que estos materiales (resinas epóxicas y de poliéster) se endurezcan, se necesita agregar un catalizador. Esto activa la reacción de polimerización.
Por lo que estuve viendo, en este contexto, se denomina "kick" al momento en el que se agregó cantidad suficiente de catalizador como para que comience la reacción. Ahí es cuando comienza a endurecerse. Me imagino que este término proviene de "kick off", que sería el arranque de la reacción de polimerización, pero aquí toma este significado específico.
Seguro que para hacer la disposición del gelcoat residual le agregan catalizador a fin de que solidifique y se pueda disponer en ese estado no reactivo.
A continuación tenés las siguientes definiciones (te copio las URL en las referencias):
Not enough catalyst – Most gelcoat manufacturers list the amount of catalyst (MEKp) it requires on the side of the can. If you are unable to find a chart, you can use the two charts listed below. We recommend 1.5% – 2.0 % by volume. The Ideal range is 1.8% @ 77°F (approximately 12 drops per ounce of gelcoat.) If the gelcoat does not get enough catalyst it will not “kick” or begin to harden. Measurements need to be exact so you can be confident the gelcoat is mixed properly before applying it to the surface. If the measurement is off even slightly, the gelcoat could start to harden but not cure completely, leaving a tacky, non-sandable surface.

The hardener for gelcoat is the same as for any polyester resin — methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, or MEKP. Gelcoat resin usually requires 1 to 2 percent of hardener by volume (follow the manufacturer's instructions). As a general rule, four drops of hardener will catalyze 1 ounce of resin at 1 percent. The mix shouldn't kick (start to harden) in less than 30 minutes. Hardening in about two hours is probably ideal. Always err on the side of too little hardener. Also be certain to stir in the hardener thoroughly; if you fail to catalyze every bit of the resin, parts of the repair will be undercured.

kick is short for 'kick-starting' - expression related to the way in which a motor-bike engine is started.
The phrases quoted in the question could use arrancar or arranque as appropriate. Or maybe disparar (and derivatives) as an alternative.
The ST refer to the use of catalysts to treat waste, and the process involves mixing a catalyst with the waste and then 'kick-starting' the reaction by creating the appropriate conditions.
The following example is from a different industry, but refers to a reaction that was kick-started by raising the temperature

: I´m sorry but "arranque" would be kick off...nevertheless, I´m afraid "arranque" has nothing to do with a waste treatment or test procedure what seems to be "kicking" according to the given sentences and context
