Financial documents frequently talk in terms of half-years and quarters > semestres / trimestres, abbreviated in EN to H and Q; although Tn is used in FR, I'm not so sure about S, since even in the longer form sem. it could so easily be mistaken for 'semaine'

I can confirm that it is a common-enough abbreviation in financial documents, albeit just less frequently used than Q = quarter.

: YES ! it is indeed very common in financial fund reports for example. "First half" in English and in French, "premier semestre"
