Sveiki, gal galit padėti...Kalba eina apie du advokatus, abu atstovauja tą patį klientą, tik iš skirtingų stovyklų. na ir niekaip nesuprantu, ką čia reiškia tas "sit at the back of the class" :(

This idiom is an allusion to a grade school student (pradinės/vidurinės mokyklos mokinys) who does not get good grades in school and therefore "goes to the back of the class", i.e. either literally (in older times) or figuratively (nowadays) he is marked as an underachiever or poor student, someone who need not try to compete with those of obviously superior ability. To "know one's place" means to have a good understanding of what is within the realm of possibility for you and not seek to attain the totally unattainable. Hope this helps. :)
