Mozna jeszcze to interpretowac tak: to, jakie ksiazki/prase itp. ktos czyta nie powinno byc interpolowane na posiadane przez tego ktosia wzory osobowe. W takim znaczeniu oba czlony tlumaczenia Jerzego beda prawidlowe.

I agree, that's a very sensible theory, but the text looks to have been very carefully edited as I haven't found any errors in the Polish. Still, you may well be right. So, how to translate that? Perhaps 'personal role models versus literary ones'? The 'personal' bit is kind of naff but you need something to oppose 'literary' to.

A moze to chodzi o "modele Z lektury"? Tzn, ze modele (postepowania, ew. cale postacie) zaczerpniete z lektury nie powinny byc mylone z wzorami osobowymi? Wtedy byloby bardziej logicznie...

Modele lektury - the problem is that there isn't really anything like the context to work out what its supposed to mean. It's just mentioned and then dropped. And, as some have noted, hard to confuse role models with reading patterns!
