In general, such things are plugs, since they "plug up/zamykają" openings/otwarcia. A core plug is a specialized plug for the engine block. Other openings simply require a plug - a generic term for their function.

Thank you, Hipopotam. There are many plugs in a car, including the ones in the engine core. There are also "body plugs" and perhaps others. Some openings require rubber grommets to shield wires from the sharp sheet-metal edges.
