These are equivalent descriptions; however, restoring force (siła przywracająca) field is an uncommon formulation. I assume the discussion at the elementary level involves springs.

At this level, the talk is probably about the gravitational potential energy U = mgh, where h is the height, and the elastic potential energy for a spring from the Hook's law, U = 1/2 kx^2, where x is the elongation/compression of the spring.
