"respiro do motor" the mechanic called it a "respiro do motor" and it is made of plastic - so it definitely does not retard, arrest or trap flames - nobody knew why it is called "Antichama" in Brasil - but the part comes with that name from the manufacturer

In the old days...:-) The crank case breather went straight back into the inlet manifold - no need for a flame trap!

Não sou mecânica, nem tampouco engenheira mecânica, mal sei trocar um pneu, mas adoro uma pesquisinha, especialmente desse tipo...
Daí, fucei a internet usando o número mencionado como o da peça original, e a coisa mais próxima que cheguei e que talvez (maybe, perhaps etc) possa fazer sentido, no contexto, é o item 1 (oil separator) de um diagrama da VW dedicado ao Brasil - http://www.realoem.me/Volkswagen/BR/GOLF/2008/379/R/1/103/10...
