Spanish term

anajamiento

Spanish to English Science Poetry & Literature
This is a word that I found in a book by Gloria Anzaldua but there is nothing in the dictionary or online. I wonder if it could be a regionalism.

"Se enmudecen mis ojos al saber que la vida no se entrega. Mi pecado ne es la rebeldìa ni el ANAJAMIENTO. Es que no amé mucho, que anduve indecisa y a la prisa, que tuve poca fe y no fui dispuesta de querer ser lo que soy."

Yes, Maureen's guess looks good.

the context certainly seems to confirm Maureen's guess.

or even a misprint for "abajamiento"? Is there even the remotest chance it could be a missed typo for "abajamiento"? Might "abajamiento" (as in "bending") be read as a sort of an antonym for "rebeldía". A native speaker would know.

misprint for 'enajenamiento'? Is this a misprint for 'enajenamiento' - alienation?

aging, getting old

It appears to be a misspelling of añajamiento which in turn seems to be a variant spelling of añejamiento - and it rather fits into the context.

The word also seems to mean getting stale, or mellowing.

alienation, estrangement, mental absence

La palabra anajamiento no está en el Diccionario de la R.A.E. It seems to me that this could be a misprint for "enajenamiento". The context seems to fit as it can mean:
1. f. Acción y efecto de enajenar o enajenarse.

2. f. Distracción, falta de atención, embeleso.

3. f. Der. enajenación mental.
