as i live in a sub-basement.I have a lovely view of the under side of the front steps...and the school across the street. My front door looks out on a driveway....and the next door neighbor's front door. I think it's time for me to move in with one of you....

I see the wall of the building next door but in between are tall spruce trees that are always full of birds. My neighbours on the ground floor have put up bird feeders. So at any time of the year I have company and I can listen to their chirping and chattering and screeching (in the case of magpies). In the spring I can watch them feed their little ones, which is lots of fun. Interesting forum. Reading about everyone else's views puts you in their shoes for a moment and creates a gr... city and mountains | Jan 10, 2009 |
My city is surrounded by mountains, so wherever you look you can see the roofs, some high buildings, and mountains. Really relaxing. I also love when I work in my parent's countryhouse. I stay outside, under a big veranda, and all around trees and plants, and a light wind... wonderful | | | Niraja Nanjundan (X) Local time: 02:58 din germană în engleză Wall and painting | Jan 10, 2009 |
I face a wall with a nice painting (Indian contemporary art) on it when I'm working. We have a large variety of birds in Delhi and I can usually hear some outside my window. My house is surrounded by other buildings, but there's a big park a few minutes away and whenever I feel like a break, I just hop over for a walk for at least half an hour, sometimes longer. | | | Giuliana Mafrica Italia Local time: 23:28 Membru (2009) din engleză în italiană + ... Strait of Messina, Sicily | Jan 10, 2009 |
From my window on the 4th floor I see the Strait of Messina and Sicily, with Mount Aetna in background. Very inspiring! | | | Terrace and the block of flats next door | Jan 10, 2009 |
In our flat in Rome, the view from my window is of the block of flats next door and our terrace, which has various cacti on it. I get some sparrows visiting me most afternoons, which is nice - fortunately the cats are too old to bother them now. In our house in the country, my view is of my garden with its two tall Italian cypresses, the lake at the bottom and the hills on the other side of the lake. I live and work from the ground floor, so there is no spectacular view for me. Still, there is a lemon tree right in front of my window, and an orange tree a little further, and roses and lavenders all around. The birds keep me company, as well as some passing, stray cats. Then, right beyond the garden, there is the street, and I can look at the passing cars and my neighbours. Not bad at all, I suppose!
We moved our office to new premises in December, and since then I enjoy the lovely view above the roofs of the old town of Pulsnitz every day with the hilly landscape in the background. All snow-covered today, doesn't look bad at all

From my desk I can see a field sloping down to the sea, and on a clear day the Irish coast is visible on the horizon. On a reasonable day I can see the Kintyre peninsula and Sanda island. Today all I can see is the field, rain and clouds - you wouldn't know the sea was there at all!

My office is on the 1st floor of my house in Penzance, Cornwall. I overlook a self-styled sub-tropical garden full of palm trees, magnolias and so on, trying to survive our allegedly mild climate - although the recent heavy frosts have left their mark. Many birds visit my own small, self-styled sub-tropical front garden - seagulls, blackbirds, occasionally a charming goldcrest (Britain's smallest bird). Beyond, I can see Newlyn harbour (a busy fishing port) and a scrap of the Atlantic Ocean, sometimes calm and turquoise blue, often wild and foaming with spray whirling over the Promenade. I adore it all. I'm fascinated to read about everyone's office views. Yes, it does bring us closer to one another and make us "real". When I ¸take a look outside the patio door, I can see my horses, the trees, and when I'm up early enough (around 5 am), I can see the deers eating the corn that I gave them during the winter months. When I need a break, I go out and ride.
