get myself into a higher position

Explanation:
I think near-literal does work here

Certification has helped me (to) get myself into a higher position (OR onto a higher level) in the labor/employment/work market.

"employment" or "work" might work better

You don't need an article in front of "certification" unless you want to highlight a specific certification already mentioned

I thought of keeping it more simple and merely saying

Certification has helped me better my position in the labor market as this means it's higher than the position you were in prior to certifcation.
However, "nivel superior" could mean it's actually a higher-status position that actually requires this certification

It seems to me that this is improving employability, prospects of getting a higher status job, as this certification makes them eligible, rather than just working their way up.
