Professional Background

I have worked in many different areas. From 1999 to 2011 I worked as an English teacher, a bilingual attendant, an administrative assistant, a management assistant and, of course, as a Translator/Interpreter.
Nowadays, I am a full-time freelance translator.
EN<>PT(BR) Translator

I have translated, edited, localized, transcribed and proofread several types of documents, such as: manuals, abstracts, articles, literary texts, technical documents, certificates, researches, contracts, reports, menus, folders, curriculums, SEO, Adwords, websites, e-mails, presentations, movies, games and books (novels).

These jobs were done for different companies/clients, among them:

Unilever Kraft Foods (Milka)
Sun/Oracle Montblanc
GFK Lilly
GlaxoSmithKline Abbott Laboratories
Geokinetics Inc. BHP Billiton Brasil
AngloGold Ashanti Triumph International
Bertrand Brasil Galera Record
Holcim Brasil S.A. Voice Brazil Versão Brasileira

In 2004, I worked as a voluntary interpreter for Rotary Club in Mariana (M.G.), with ophthalmologists that came to Brazil to help poor communities.
I have also worked as an interpreter in meetings.

Additional Information

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Translation and a Teaching Degree (English<>Portuguese).

While I was at the University, I took part in some research projects related to English and Brazilian Portuguese phonetics.

I have helped to localize the ProZ.com website into Portuguese (BR) and I am also a ProZ.com Moderator.

I presented the paper/poster "The Translator/Reviser Relationship: What are its effects on the final translation?" on the 10th Brazilian Translation Forum and 4th International Translation Forum, that happened from September 7th to 10th (2009), in Ouro Preto (MG - Brazil).

I took three courses on “Literary Translation” at PUC-RJ – Gavea Campus, with the professor and translator Regina Lyra. The first one happened in 2009, the second one in 2010, and the third one in 2012.

I am extremely organized, detail-oriented, communicative and dedicated.

I don't mind working on weekends and holidays.

I accept Paypal.

For further information, please contact me via e-mail or ProZ.com IM.

I am looking forward to working with/for you. :))
