I never thought there would come a day that I would have to say this on this platform of all places, but here we go : don't feed the troll.

I am not feeding the troll, but simply trying to correct the misinformation out there, and protecting our profession.

To be fair, though, he's only saying what I keep saying: PEMT is all about checking/editing/proofreading and misses out the actual translation process. PEMT is not a type of translation; it's a type of editing.

I would hesitate to translate German after many years of not doing so, but I'm sure I could knock a machine translation into good shape. It's a much more passive process.
