Can you rewrite a text with Acrobat Reader 10?

I want to make a proofreading of a pdf file with Acrobat Reader 10 (that is the tool the client wants me to use, I have never used it before). Is it possible to rewrite a word, maybe a whole sentence or to add/delete a punctuation mark? Or can you only add a comment and highlight the text?

If it is possible to rewrite the text, how can I do that?

Iceni Infix works well for editing PDFs. They do of course have to be editable, not scanned files.
