Source text - English The spectacular aftermath of a 360-million-year-old cosmic collision is revealed in great detail in new images from the European Southern Observatory’s (ESO) Very Large Telescope (VLT) at the Paranal Observatory. Among the debris is a rare and mysterious young dwarf galaxy. This galaxy is providing astronomers with an excellent opportunity to learn more about similar galaxies that are expected to be common in the early universe but are normally too faint and distant to be observed by current telescopes.
NGC 5291, the hazy golden oval dominating the center of this image, is an elliptical galaxy located nearly 200 million light-years away in the constellation Centaurus the Centaur. Over 360 million years ago, NGC 5291 was involved in a dramatic and violent collision as another galaxy traveling at immense speeds barreled into its core. The cosmic crash ejected huge streams of gas into nearby space, which later coalesced into a ring formation around NGC 5291.
Over time, material in this ring gathered and collapsed into dozens of star-forming regions and several dwarf galaxies, revealed as pale blue and white regions scattered around NGC 5291 in this new image from the FORS instrument that is mounted on the VLT. The most massive and luminous clump of material to the right of NGC 5291 is one of these dwarf galaxies and is known as NGC 5291N.

Entre los desechos se encuentra una rara y misteriosa galaxia enana. Esta galaxia proporciona a los astrónomos una excelente oportunidad de aprender más sobre galaxias similares, que se cree que son comunes en el universo temprano, pero normalmente son apenas visibles y se encuentran demasiado distantes para ser observadas por telescopios comunes.
El óvalo dorado neblinoso que domina el centro es NGC 5291, una galaxia elíptica ubicada a casi 200 millones de años-luz en la constelación Centaurus, el centauro. Hace más de 360 millones de años, la NGC 5291 estuvo envuelta en una colisión dramática y violenta cuando otra galaxia que viajaba a velocidades altísimas salió disparada hacia su núcleo. El choque cósmico expulsó enormes cantidades de gas hacia el espacio adyacente, que después se fusionaron en una formación anular alrededor de la NGC 5291.
Con el tiempo, el material presente en este anillo se ensambló y estalló en decenas de regiones formadoras de estrellas y numerosas galaxias enanas, que se revelan como regiones de color azul claro y blanco desparramadas alrededor de la galaxia NGC 5291 en esta nueva imagen del instrumento FORS montado en el VLT. La acumulación de material más maciza y luminosa a la derecha de la NGC 5291 es una de esas galaxias enanas y se la conoce como NGC 5291N.

Cuando hablamos de niños, esta evaluación permite realizar un diagnóstico diferencial de los problemas del neurodesarrollo y detectar alteraciones cognitivas muy difíciles de observar con otros estudios, como trastornos de comunicación, de lenguaje y de aprendizaje, déficit de atención, trastornos cognitivos y del comportamiento, así como problemas de memoria, percepción, habilidades visoespaciales, funciones ejecutivas, entre otras.
Lo que se busca es establecer un perfil de fortalezas y debilidades de las funciones cognitivas y, si es posible y necesario, llegar a un diagnóstico certero.
¿Quiénes realizan esta evaluación y en qué consiste?
Es una valoración clínica en la que se utilizan test y pruebas estandarizadas administradas por un profesional con formación y experiencia en el campo de la neuropsicología. Los resultados deben ser cotejados con otros recursos en el campo de la clínica.
No obstante, los resultados cuantitativos y cualitativos son tan importantes como la observación y la interacción con el niño mediante el juego, el dibujo y el lenguaje, vías de expresión por excelencia.

A neurocognitive testing is an exploration of someone's cognitive, behavioural capacity and of the basic learning devices on a brain level, which allows each individual's develompent to be assessed.
When we talk about children, this testing allows a differential diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders to be made and cognitive alterations, very difficult to observe through other studies, to be detected; not only communication, language and learning, attention deficit, cognitive and behavior disorders, but also problems related to memory, perception, visuospatial skills, executive functions among others.
What is attempted is to establish a profile determining streghts and weaknesses of children's cognitive functions, and, if possible and necessary, come to an accurate diagnosis.
Who makes this testing and what does it consist in?
This testing is a clinical assessment in which standardized tests are administered by a professional trained and experienced in the field of neuropsychology. Results must be checked against other resources available in the field of clinics.
However, quantitative and qualitative results are as important as observation of the child and interaction with him through play, drawing, and speech, ways of expression per excellence.

I am a Professional Translator. I have experience in translating electronic mail from Spanish into English for a corporation (although I did it informally, I produced and edited the final versions); I also translated an abstract of a PhD in Medicine from Spanish to English called: "Demora en tiempos de respuesta a códigos amarillos en un servicio de emergencias de la ciudad de Córdoba" (Delay in the Response Time to Code 2 in a Medical Emergency Private Service in Córdoba, Argentina)
I performed as an INTERPRETER in the 14th International Conference on Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses (Batten Disease) as an aid to communicate English speaking researchers and Medical Doctors, and Spanish-speaking patient's relatives and special education teachers.
Most of the texts I have translated are related to technological advances (user and operating manuals), and various from the scientific area (magazine articles, glossaries, abstracts, among others). For this reason, these have become my main areas of interests.
However, I have also devoted time to do voluntary EN-ES translations to Globethics.net (http://www.globethics.net/) and ES-EN translations for the religious movement I belong to in Argentina (Movimiento de la Palabra de Dios).
