I am a native English speaker who has lived in Spain since 1990. I have a BA Hons in English Literature and History of Art, and an MSc in Sustainability and Business. I have had a varied working life and have wide interests and am therefore comfortable translating and interpreting in many subject areas. I am responsible and meticulous in my approach to my work.

I am a published writer and poet, and express myself confidently on the page in both English and Spanish. As a long time teacher of English I have a good grasp of grammar and have good editing and proofreading skills. My translation work has included business letters, contracts, project documentation, travel guides and poems as well as full length books, catalogues for art exhibitions, annual reports for arts organisations and scripts for award winning independent videos, mostly in the fields of art and culture, sustainability, business and communications, tourism, travel, education, personal development and spirituality. Obviously most of my work is Spanish to English; however I have also been required to translate documents into Spanish for some clients.

I very much enjoy interpreting, and have been described as a gifted communicator. My jobs have been very varied, including: Madrid Goddess Conference; many courses and workshops covering personal development and shamanism; TVPP Productions videos on mining in Cordoba; an episode of a BBC TV documentary series with John Craven; an EU sponsored Second Chance Schools conference; intercultural youth projects and innumerable private jobs covering everything from meetings with the Notary Public, lawyers, builders, estate agents, contractors, banks… My simultaneous work has been whispered, so for any simultaneous work involving equipment I would need a little training.

I live in a beautiful part of Spain in the countryside in the house that my husband and I built ourselves, and although I love it here, translating and interpreting allows me to continue to engage with the wider world and enjoy professional challenges.
