What translation project are you working on right now?
I carried out a review and keyword seeding for a marketing page about data privacy and security: tried to add some variety but it is pretty difficult to avoid repeating words such as "Schutz", "sicher", "Sicherheit", "geschützt", "schützen", "Datenschutz" and "Datensicherheit" because there are not that many synonyms in German.  1 user
(edited) In translation context is still king: after you have your webpage translated, it should also make sense when embedded with images and other graphics on your website. Furthermore, you want to make sure that no text is cut off or missing and that link texts make sense and are compliant with SEO practices. All of that is what I did for a client today while also adding extra value through keyword seeding during my thorough review. 
I love that I can handle a variety of different tasks as language specialist for English and German. Since the beginning of my career, I've not only handled translations but also subtitling, LQA, proofreading or linguistic testing tasks. (edited) A little variety in my work as an English to German translator, proofreader and reviewer: Today, I had a Zoom meeting to onboard a new linguist to our reviewer team. I ensured that she had all the tools as well as resources necessary available and understood the review process as well as the quality expected. In the coming days, I will provide feedback to her for her first articles to check that she has fully understood the client’s guidelines, how to edit an article in WordPress and the language quality assurance criteria for this marketing project.

(edited) Due to technical issues on the client's side, I was not able proceed with my reviews of articles about career advice as planned and to be productive anyway, I made good use of the time and caught up with the most recent developments in the field of SEO today, and you might have guessed it ChatGPT was also one of the topics.

(edited) I’m back! ;) I just finished my translation for a new licensed version of a well-known card game about a popular film trilogy. A particular challenge was the fact that I had to make sure that the translations were all according to the German dubbed version. In the end, I even had to change questions and answers for the quiz because the German dubbed version sometimes left out certain facts or was very different from the English original.  1 user

Translated event descriptions and a survey for hunting and fishing simulation games 
Went angling and hunting a lot this week but only virtually as I translated, proofread and reviewed several updates for hunting and angling sims. The next gaming task is already waiting for me!  1 user
Will be translating a few more chapters of a story today (genres: romance and drama). After that, it's time to have a look at new game releases at the virtual event E3 2021. :)

Back from a haunted house in which everyone talks very posh except for the uneducated staff for whom I used some credible typos and misspellings in German. I also used the old German spelling "daß" for the word "dass" as it was common during that time and it will help players to get fully immersed in the game's lore.  1 user1 user
(edited) Last week I was literally on the hunt for the best words when I translated new updates for a hunting simulation game 
My love for card and video games combined: Translated an RPG with a deck-building mechanism. 
Very happy today because I could help a client improve the quality of their angling simulation game with my LQA. I spotted several grammar and spelling mistakes as well as inconsistent use of terms and inappropriate translations. Great to see changes have also already been implemented in the game.
(edited) Finally some time to look back at my successful year 2020: All in all, I translated and proofread more than 400,000 words in my specialist fields (marketing, market research, gaming, whistleblowing systems, fashion, hospitality, e-literature). In addition to that, I created subtitles for 11 videos and performed quality checks on more than 130 videos. I also really enjoyed the virtual events that I attended in 2020, particularly BP'20 Translation conference and Game Global Focus On Training and Recruitment. I would like to thank all colleagues who gave me useful tips and helped me further improve my skills. I wish all of you a successful year 2021!  1 user

Mission completed: Functional and linguistic testing for a mobile app which helps young people to cope with the death of a loved one
(edited) Last month and last Friday I was particularly focusing on further developing my business at BP20 translation conference and BP2.0+ translation event. I'd like to thank all the speakers and colleagues for the useful tips they've given me during the conference and networking sessions. 
The game I helped to translate will now also be one of the first board games (or even the first ever) that offers an eco-friendly version of its beautiful miniatures. I got off to a good start in 2020! Just finished another set of short stories as well as a press release about a study on workers' attitudes towards technologies at the workplace. (edited) Had a great August with many interesting translation projects: translated 5 short stories (genres: Fantasy, Action, Historical), successful launch of the German website of my client, constantly received translation request from old clients and new clients, carried out quality controls for the subtitles of more than 20 videos
(edited) I had a very delicious translation last week: 1300 words from English to German for a well-known confectionary company. In the end, I couldn't resist the temptation to conduct in-depth research in the supermarket nearby.
