"Hard munchables", según la explicación de lorena2, puede ser un alimento o no, pero es esencialmente para explorar. En la referencia de Lorena dice que, de ser una zanahoria o algo comestible, debe sujetarse por la punta y retirarlo si se ve que se va a romper.
Lo traduciría como "algo" y no "alimento", especialmente en este contexto.
Tal vez, incluso, aclararía: mordedores, cucharas ya que el texto especifica que es para explorar en la boca y no comer ni tragar. Ni siquiere pondría masticar, aunque es la traducción más literal en inglés porque en español, uno pensaría en deshacerlo y tragarlo y aqui se trata de morder y jugar en la boca.

Based on this definition I would not limit the translation to "alimentos"

*Hard Munchable: A hard munchable is something that is hard to chew on and should not be allowed to break off or eaten. Hard munchables are both food and non-food items such as spoons, teething toys, and carrots. When offering an edible hard munchable (such as a carrot), always hold on to one end. Take the item away when it looks like it may break off. Edible hard munchables require adult supervision.
