DIAGNOSTICO CLINICO: D.O.C.

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Health Care From an anatopath report
I am translating a anatomical pathology report of a woman with cervical cancer, and there is a line that read:

DIAGNOSTICO CLINICO: D.O.C.

I've exhausted my English and Spanish medical resources and cannot find the expansion for "D.O.C." Any help will be much appreciated.

Lo más aproximado que he encontrado en inglés es esto;
National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP)

Charles Davis Apr 6, 2019:
Previous question on DOC https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/medical-genera...

It's a cancer screening programme for women, aimed at early detection of both cervical/uterine and breast cancer, not exclusively the former. Here is in relation to the latter:

"Por lo tanto, es fundamental mejorar el programa de DOC de mama a través de la mastografía sistemática y organizada."
http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S...

"Epidemiología del cáncer mamario en México [...]
Estos resultados dependen mucho del acceso a la detec-ción oportuna de cáncer (DOC) y a un tratamiento óptimo"
http://juntoscontraelcancer.mx/jcc/wp-content/uploads/2017/0...

So it refers to the means of diagnosis rather than the disease diagnosed (which, as we know, is cervical cancer in this case).

Cervical cancer early detected

I think the references provided until now are right pointing out that this refers to cervical cancer early detected.

I have found the DOC abbreviation as " Detección Oportuna de Cáncer Cérvico-Uterino (DOC)", i.e. it is solely related to cervical cancer and not to any cancer.

Análisis y resultados del Programa de Detección Oportuna de Cáncer Cérvico-Uterino (DOC)

http://www.revista.unam.mx/vol.12/num8/art78/index.html

In a diagnosis you will have to describe this as e.g

'had early detection of cervical cancer or'

'cervical cancer early detected '

This would reflect that the diagnosis of cervical cancer is positive.

Aha! Yes, that makes complete sense. Thanks so much. BR, John

agree Thomas Walker : I think "early detection of cancer" is right; but I can't find any evidence that "EDC" is a commonly used English acronym for "early detection of cancer". There are several other completely unrelated uses of "EDC".
