: NO WAY JOSE!! Spitting image is a semi-comic term and hardly appropriate to use in connection with Christ!! Sorry! (P.S. Even if Morton Benson does have it :)

: Unfortunately, this term is of an offensive nature. I strongly recommend not to be used.

: Not sure whom I'm agreeing with. But spitting image is not offensive, however it's the kind of register that will give offence to some members of the community when used in an in appropriate context

epitome of crucifixion/being crucified/being torn apart
Nisam sigurna koliko je umjesno dotičnog slikara (?) izravno porediti sa Isusom. Osim toga, mislim da je ovdje akcent upravo na toj razapetosti između zavičaja i inostranstva.

the very image of the Crucified
ako se pod raspetoga misli na Krista, mislim da bi crucified moralo pisati velikim slovom. ako nije Krist, onda "the very image of a crucified man/person"
