..."chaconne" is pronounce "sha-KON" in English. I mean, could someone have heard a word pronounced, and interpreted it as "chaconne", because of a phonetic similarity?

Well, if Chaconne is a political/religious organization, then there is no "pretence" involved. The question is" what is Chaconne? And, no, the 17/18th century dance form is hardly likely to be it. Is there an Arabic word that sounds like Chaconne?....

Does it mean that the organization pretends to be collecting money for Chaconne causes? This organization is actually collecting money for political and religious purposes.

I always thought a "chaconne" was a slow dance in 3/4 time with a repeating bass.... Hardly helps here.
