• For several decades, xxxxxxxx was the only “back contact” solar cell on the commercial market.
• See visual comparison below that compares xxxxxxxxx with a Conventional “front contact” cell.
• In short, the conventional cell has ribbons and wires sitting atop the silicon. This introduces inefficiency (by blocking the sun), and weakness (the thin, brittle metal is exposed and can fail – and the cell is not built on a solid metal foundation).
• Recently, xxxx has begun to manufacture its own “back contact” cell that moves these ribbons to the back of their cell.

Quando vi è scritto "back contact" indica quindi la disposizione nella parte "posteriore" (non esposta al sole), "ribbon-based" sono i modelli che utilizzano punti di saldatura tra le celle.
