Moving annual total (MAT): The total value of a variable, such as sales figures for a product, over the course of the previous 12 months. This is a rolling yearly sum, so changes at the end of each month with data from the new month added to the total and data from the first month of the period taken away.

El TAM y el TMM son las siglas de “total anual móvil” y “total mensual móvil”, respectivamente. Actúan absorbiendo las variaciones estacionales para mostrarnos un dato de evolución más limpio y pueden ser utilizadas para el estudio de las ventas de un comercial o del total de la organización.

El TAM, o “Total Anual Móvil”, es la suma de las ventas de los 12 meses anteriores al periodo en el que se calculó la TAM, de modo que si se quiere calcular la TAM a diciembre, obviamente coincidirá con las ventas acumuladas de enero a diciembre de dicho año (152.000 en el ejemplo).

A partir de aquí, se calcula la TAM del siguiente mes, sumando a la última TAM, las ventas del mes, y restando las ventas del mismo mes del año anterior (152.100 en el ejemplo).
