have a positive self-image

Self-image is how you perceive yourself. It is a number of self-impressions that have built up over time: What are your hopes and dreams? What do you think and feel? What have you done throughout your life and what did you want to do? These self-images can be very positive, giving a person confidence in their thoughts and actions, or negative, making a person doubtful of their capabilities and ideas.

Surprisingly, your self-image can be very different from how the world sees you. Some people who outwardly seem to have it all (intelligence, looks, personal and financial success) may have a bad self-image. Conversely, others who have had a very difficult life and multiple hardships may also have a very positive self-image.

have a good (positive) picture of themselves

All of us, including children, see ourselves in a certain way in our thoughts. In fact, we have a mental picture of ourselves. For children, this picture includes who they are, what they can do, and how they think others see them. It may be good or bad or some of each. For example, a child may feel that he or she does well in school, not so well at sports, or is good at getting along with friends. Also, children who have a good (positive) picture of themselves tend to make better friends because they seem more sure of themselves.

Also parents'/others positive expectation from children is very important in building such feelings.

good feelings about themselves leads to strong self-esteem and contribute to self confidence:
Self-confidence is an attitude which allows individuals to have positive yet realistic views of themselves and their situations. Self-confident people trust their own abilities, have a general sense of control in their lives, and believe that, within reason, they will be able to do what they wish, plan, and expect.
Having self-confidence does not mean that individuals will be able to do everything. Self-confident people have expectations that are realistic. Even when some of their expectations are not met, they continue to be positive and to accept themselves.
People who are not self-confident depend excessively on the approval of others in order to feel good about themselves. They tend to avoid taking risks because they fear failure. They generally do not expect to be successful. They often put themselves down and tend to discount or ignore compliments paid to them. By contrast, self-confident people are willing to risk the disapproval of others because they generally trust their own abilities. They tend to accept themselves; they don't feel they have to conform in order to be accepted.

I think feel good is raw material for building self-image, self- concept, self-esteem, self- confidence. Child feels he/she is good because parents told what a good child or treat them as good children, He/ she think he/ she is good student/ citizen/ child for parents so tries to show behavior consistent with these feelings and there are other issues need to be discussed here. Of course it should be noted that for example self- concept has two aspects both negative and positive. What's your question: If you have self confidence we could say that you have good feelings about yourselves? Or you feel self-confidence, self- image? Every body has self-image, self- confidence (in some aspects of his/ her life), self- concept could be negative and positive, as well as I guess self- image.
