Do we need to worry about offending people? Imagine, say, that McFerguson-Douglas-Dowe cannot understand why their all-purpose miracle cleaning product isn't selling as well in France as in the US, so have commissioned a market survey. Apart from the Like, Don't Like answers etc., the level of language will tell them something about the people who buy, like, or not, their product. They may wish to discount the answers of a certain socio-economic category, determined by the language used, from the survey.

Or "crap" colour"....to keep the toilet image. I think this should work in the US too. Or even "crappy, colour-wise". Just a few ideas.
