Je n'ai pas encore de proposition mais je pense voir de quoi il retourne.
Je pense qu'il s'agit d'une amélioration, d'un changement sur 2 niveaux :
"Tiefe" --> être capable d'assurer soi-même plus d'étapes de fabrication dans la chaîne complète matière(s) première(s) --> produit fini
"Breite" --> agrandir l'éventail de produits. Ici, "diversifier" est parfait, à mon avis.
