I found it "metamorphic" often used in combination with place names (i.e. names of specific geological units) - used adjectivally, as part of the noun phrase (e.g. Kłodzko Metamorphic Complex):

The Polish term for Kłodzko Metamorphic Complex (KMC) is Metamorfik Kłodzki.

I haven't found it used without place names anywhere, and since you provide no context, I assume it might be used in some such place name combination in your source text.

Correction: of course found the term "metamorphic" used (adjectivally) without place names, as in "metamorphic rock". What I meant was I haven't found it used as a self-standing noun - only as part of a noun phrase, modifying a noun.
