Yes, 'dalb' means the same as white, but white in the sense of pure.

Popular Romanian Christmas caril Florile Dalbe

Hi Simon,

That is a popular Romanian Christmas carol entitled : Florile Dalbe. Everyone in Romania would understand that reference as a Christmas Carol. There is no direct English translation.

Florile means flowers, dalbe means white.


You can translate it literally as 'Pure flowers' or 'white flowers', but I would leave the Romanian term as it is, in italics and add a footnote explaining it is a popular Romanian Christmas Carol.
