Can an "Acrobat Distiller 8.0.0 (macintosh)" .pdf file be edited as smoothly as a Word file?

Hello! I have what is probably a naive question:
Is it true, as I have been told, that, if I have a PDF file created by "Acrobat Distiller 8.0.0 (macintosh)", as indicated in "properties" of the file, if I had a MAC computer (which I do not have) I could edit this file very smoothly as if it were a Word file in Windows?

Cannot be edited. It is a final output format no matter which tool was used to produce it.

All depends if the file is protected or not.

Using the Adobe Acrobat Pro (i.e. full version) you can make changes and edit a PDF document. Sometimes I use Adobe Illustrator to open and work with a PDF file.
