I'm wondering if they mean that when they calculate time in weeks, that they count Monday as the first day and Saturday as the last day?
Like with the other question, I can't really see the logic. The text is a bit problematic, as one example in the sentence above, they refer to incubation of 4 weeks when the hens age from 39 to 42 weeks (a difference of 3 not 4 weeks).
Later on they refer again to Mon-Sat:
No incubatório foi realizado embriodiagnóstico em 100% dos ovos não eclodidos, totalizando 7.615 ovos analisados. Essas atividades também foram realizadas diariamente, de segunda a sábado.
TIA:-)

collected eggs from Monday to Saturday
They did not work on Sundays. This is what I think they mean.

Comment: "This is the only logical explanation. Incubation couldn't have occurred 6 of 7 days, so it has to be the collecting of eggs. Thanks Luiza:-)"

It is not necessarily the first and last day of the week. It's just the period they used to work with the hens.
Nope.
39 - 42 (4 weeks difference) - 39, 40, 41, 42

Considering the text you present above it matches well.
Adding for weeks to 39 you'll get 43 if you start counting with 40, 41, 42, 43. As you wrote, the text may present inconsistencies.
In the text above the 39th week is counted!
In the "elsewhere" you mention the 39th week isn't considered.
Just analyzing the entire text would be sufficient to get to a right conclusion.

Note from asker:
I disagree with your calculation becuase elsewhere in the same text they added 4 weeks to 39 and got 43:-) I didn't mean first and last day in the week, as obviously Sunday would have to be included, I meant first/last day fro some activity. |
