Portuguese term

estagio A.F.C.E. I

Portuguese to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy School subjects
This is from a Brazilian school certificate:

A escola certifica que XXX concluiu o estagio A.F.C.E. I no curso de Lingua Estrangeira Moderna - Ingles.

Any ideas what the acronym stands for and what this is?

Many thanks

There's a space before the I and no period after it, so it could be AFCE and a Roman numeral 1. But I don't think it's the translator's job to decipher the abbreviation, and I couldn't find it.

Portuguese term (edited): estágio A.F.C.E. I
Selected

stage/level: First Certificate in English (FCE) for Adults I

I believe FCE stands for "First Certificate in English". It's an acronym used by the British Council in reference to an English language exam.

"The FCE exam is for those individuals who can use everyday written and spoken English including understanding radio and TV programs and those who can take notes while listening to a lecture in English." https://www.esldirectory.com/english-language-exams/first-ce...

Letter "A" in the term phrase stands for "Adults", hence "Adults First Certificate in English".

This booklet from a Brazilian college defines "Estágio: AFCE 2 (Adults FCE Preparation Course–Level 2): https://docplayer.net/4987868-Sao-paulo-18-de-abril-de-2012-... (Note: In this, as well as in the other examples of "estágio", "estágio" seems to be the same as "level".

I hope this helps.

I suggest asking your client for clarification on the meaning of the acronym. That's the safest route. :-)
