Portuguese term

"pesca ao fundo"

Portuguese to English Other Fisheries recreational fishing
This is a form of angling, as I understand it, practised from the shore or a mole, for example, using a rod and a weighted line (100 to 300 g).

The context is just a photo caption: "Pescador recreativo no molhe de Vila Real de Santo António, com uma dourada (Sparus aurata), capturada por “pesca ao fundo”, em Agosto de 2006."

However, there is a good description and illustration here: http://www.pesca-pt.com/index.php/content/view/19/ The problem is I still don't know what it's called in English. AFIK, it's not "deep sea fishing" as that is done from a boat off the coast.

Ideally, I'd like to have an answer from a fishing enthusiast - no wild guesses, please, this has to be right.
