Portuguese term

Cálculo do VERT

Portuguese to English Medical Medical: Dentistry cefalometry
Cálculo do VERT
1.98 => Braqui Severo

I am almost sure this "VERT" is an abbreviation or acronym.
I thought about "vertical dimension" but I cannot find any confirmation...

Discussion

T o b i a s Jul 4, 2017:
'Cephalometric analysis (Ricketts)' might be the way to go. 'VERT index' is usually found only in the context of a PT>EN translation.
T o b i a s Jul 4, 2017:
The division of facial types was based on the classification of Ricketts,[1] which divides it in dolichofacial (vertical growth), brachyfacial (horizontal growth), and mesofacial, an intermediate of the previous two.

'Braqui Severo' suggests brachyfacial analysis, but this doesn't quite jive with most interpretations of the (Brazilian) acronym 'VERT'.

expressisverbis Jul 4, 2017:
Definição: Craniofacial morphology was determined by the vertical growth coefficient (VERT) index, which is the arithmetic mean of the difference between five cephalometric measures (facial axis, anterior lower facial height, mandibular plane, mandibular arch, and facial depth) divided by the standard deviation [22]. The craniofacial morphology of each subject was classified as: dolichofacial (below -0.5), mesofacial (between -0.49 and +0.49), and brachyfacial (above +0.5) (Figure 1).
