BTW, "serpent" is my suggestion for "serpentao" NOT for "ophicleide"

Serpentão, serpente - Instrumento de sopro, de bocal e longo tubo curvilíneo, em forma de S duplo, originário do séc. XVI e muito usado em bandas militares. O tubo era feito de várias partes sendo mais tarde substituído pela tuba ou pelo Ophicleide.
