Hey everybody,

i am currently working with my firm's old reference material (German to English) in Transit Nxt Professional. The quality of the translations is really bad. Therefore, I am looking for ideas of how to clean up this material in a cost-efficient and fast way. On the one hand the terminology is mostly wrong, sometimes target segments still have source text or there are spelling mistakes.

What are your ideas on cleaning up my reference material?

I'm a previous Project Manager at STAR Group and might be able to help! Sep 22, 2021

Hello LaTherm,
I'm a previous Translator and Project Manager at STAR Group and might be able to help you!
First, I need to get more details from you to find out which workarounds could work in your case.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss the possible options to answer your question! For example, using Reg. Ex. filters could be a way to find specific segments and parts in both the REF materials and the new texts\terminology as well.

You could, of course, run Transit's QA checks (including spell-checking and terminology verification) but you would waste a lot of time on TUs that you'll probably never use again.

So my approach would be to correct errors on the fly (during the translation process), when you see them in the Concordance or in the inserted suggestion from the TM.

As you know, Transit offers features to Find and Replace in, or directly edit the reference files.
