Do not eat or drink anything after MIDNIGHT the night before your surgery except for heart or blood pressure or other critical medications with a sip of water.
Wear clean comfortable clothing, with snap or button down shirt.
Shower within 24 hours and have clean hair, face, and do not wear make-up, lotions/products on face.
Instructions for medications to take morning of surgery will come from the Preoperative Medical Clinic visit.
You must have a responsible adult drive and go home with you after surgery.
You will not be allowed to leave alone.

Surgery dates, time and location will not appear in My Chart.

Surgical Eye Drops Information:
Surgery drops DO NOT need to be used prior to your surgery.
Instill drops individually and wait 3-5 minutes in between administering.
Diclofenac (Grey Top):
Use one drop in the surgical eye 4 times daily starting immediately after surgery for one week, then 3 times daily for one week, then 2 times daily for one week, then once a day for one week (4 weeks total).
Prednisolone (Pink Top):
Use one drop in the surgical eye 4 times daily starting immediately after surgery for one week, then 3 times daily for one week, then 2 times daily for one week, then once a day for one week (4 weeks total).
After Surgery Information
Post-Op Surgical Instructions:
Have a driver drive you home on the day of your surgery and day after for post-op
Wear an eye shield at bedtime/sleeping for a week
Expect to have blurry vision, this will get better as you heal
Take it easy, you can read or watch TV
No vigorous activities for about a week, heavy lifting or bending at the waist
No swimming/hot tubbing or getting water directly in the eye for about 2 weeks
Do not use makeup/products on the eye for a week
