Hi !

When I try to clean up the file I get the following message:

Word could not convert the document due to an OLE/COM or file name error.

What shall I do?

Save the file as RTF Jul 1, 2003

Hi Andrea,
Try saving the file as .RTF before cleanup. If that doesn't help, use the tw4winClean.Main macro (note that this does not update your TM with any changes made - probably worth producing a backup copy before running the macro).

I found another solution (when saving under .rtf does not work) Oct 20, 2012

I know this topic is very old but in case it could help somebody, I've actually found a solution and I guess this is where the problem comes from: before doing your clean up, close your Word file. THEN, go to Windows Task Manager > Processes and search and stop Microsoft Word. You can now clean your file without error. Let me know if it works for you too
