Are there any? Or would a Java-based tool work? (Ooh, I'm totally Linux-ignorant, but as I'll have a "spare" notebook soon, I may try installing it and see how it flies, especially with Chinese text issues.

Hi Terry, just try OmegaT, a java CAT tool, or kbabel. I used booth on big projects and I can confirm their usability.

... is one that can be used with Linux. It is a Java-based application, so it is platform independant.

As far as I know, it now supports the TMX standard, so TMs can be used with Trados.

I have actually tried OmegaT under Windoze, but haven't had time to fuss with it with work and all.

I'm sure there *are* many Chinese solutions out there - it's just that I tend to be very cautious about any software changes, even within Windoze, because if I mess up the Chinese components of my system I'm really up the creek!
