Dear Hristina,
Is it possible to expressively choose one of the three hotels of Metropol Lake Resort or will room assignment be random or in order of registration etc.?
Does "accomodation in a double room" mean double room for single use?
Thanks,
Annamaria.

Dear Annamaria,
Thank you very much for your message and your interest in the conference!
No, rooms are not assigned by us at all - if you wish to be accommodated in one particular hotel, simply specify it and ask it when you'll contact the resort to book your nights. Accommodation in a double room means that the rooms have only 1 double bed. If you wish to book 2 separate rooms, it is absolutely possible - specify it to the hotel when you book - and according to the deal we have with them, it is exactly the same price than one double room. We just enabled attendees to have more options for the same price.
Hope this clarifies things!
Have a nice weekend,
Regards,

Dear Anne,
Thank you for this useful information.
One more question just to clarify this issue: rooms will be for single use i.e. not shared with other participant?
Best regards,
Annamaria. | | | Room sharing | Apr 18, 2009 |

Dear Annamaria,
yes, rooms are for single use, unless you want to share it with another participant or unless you come with a spouse or a friend.
This is completely up to you - and has to be specified/asked to the hotel when booking.
Let me know if I can do anything else!

All-inclusive | Apr 18, 2009 |
Dear Anne
Kmnam has asked a question that was in my mind too.
However, I don't entirely follow why those booking an all-inclusive package through Proz.com would have any reason to contact any of the hotels, as you have suggested. I would naturally assume that the accommodation element of my payment would be passed on to one or other of the hotels.
Am I missing something please? | | | All inclusive and booking | Apr 18, 2009 |

Dear Russell,
Thank you for your message. As specified in the conference page at http://www.proz.com/conference/91?page=accommodation, ProZ.com dos not take your reservations. It is your responsibility to contact the hotel and book what you wish (1 room, which hotel, etc.). We simply pay for you those 2 nights that you purchased through the all-inclusive package.
Hope this clarifies!
Kind regards,
Anne | | |
Thank you very much Anne.
I have to say though, that this is crucial information that really needs to be more obvious, on the overview page and / or on any acknowledgement of payment.
Otherwise I suspect I shall not be the last to ask this question - or even turn up to find they are without accommodation! | | |
Dear Russell,
I'm glad I clarified this to you - you're right, it's indeed a very crucial information but the conference homepage contains a link to the accommodation page:
"You can book extra nights if you wish (excluding Friday and Saturday, since those are the nights included in the All-inclusive package). For more information on nights and reservations, please see the 'Accommodation and social' tab. Thank you!"

Nevertheless, you have a good point and I will have this line edited and made clearer no sooner than tomorrow.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance!

I booked my room directly through the hotel, but they confirmed my reservation as a single room since I am staying in it alone (hopefully still a double room - as in, Big Bed! ), just double room - single occupancy.
Who knows.
I guess I'll find out when I get there! | | | All-Inclusive + Booking at the Metropol | Apr 21, 2009 |
Dear all,
following Russell Jones thread, I have to say I hadn't understood either that we had to make our own reservations at the Metropol.
No problem at all, I'll get in touch with the hotel ASAP, but just wanted to mention that even though there is a line stating all this now at the main page, maybe I'm not the only one that wasn't/isn't aware of this?

I don't know, but I think it'd be better to contact all those participants via email, just to make sure they know. Actually I thought all the accomodation business was already settled and I just found out it wasn't (out of coincidence)...
Can't help thinking I might have shown up in Ohrid thinking I had some accomodation, which I actually hadn't...
Anyway hope to see you all in Ohrid this Summer... and that everything is sorted!

I paid a couple of days ago. This morning I wrote to the Metropol hotel (my choice), asking for a lake view room .
After 1 hour I got an e-mail confirming my reservation (not mentioning the lake view though, finger crossed...). So now I'll book my plane, I guess to Tirana.

Dear all,
Thank you for your postings and questions.
We did take a few bookings at the very beginning but considering the workload this was, it was decided jointly with the hotel that attendees would do it directly with them.

Of course, any booking made by Hristina or myself prior to that decision have been forwarded to the hotel and recorded at that time. I didn't feel these attendees should be informed of the change in the booking process as their booking had been taken care of anyway - I apologize for this.
So Dolly - no worries, I processed your booking and it was forwarded to the hotel back then .
Let me know if you need anything else!
Kind regards,
