Dear all,
I have already mentioned this in a forum and have also sent a support ticket, but so far I have not received any answer.
When an answer is automatically selected by the system, only the chosen answerer gets an email notification. As an answerer, I would like to know when the questions I answered are automatically closed. As an asker I would like even more to know that a question is not closed by me (usually because I still have not made my choice).

Would not it be possible to implement an option to get this kind of emails?

Stephanie's request seems reasonable. I myself would prefer to *not* get notifications of any kind (even when questions I have answered are closed or when my answer has been selected). I visit the site frequently enough to check on these matters myself, and I would prefer to avoid superfluous e-mails.
Would *this* be possible?
Bob

Dear Stephanie & Robert,
Please let me have a look at these issues. I believe these options could be added to the KudoZ dashboard.
Kind regards,

Hi Enrique,
Did you follow up my request (above) to provide an option of receiving *no notifications* at all from proz.com?

This has actually become a more pressing matter to me since I purchased a BlackBerry several months ago. When I am away from my desk and see the light blinking on my phone indicating that I have an e-mail message, I really don't appreciate having to enter a password and access my e-mail...only to find out that the message indicates that a question has been closed, or that I've been awarded Kudoz points (I enjoy Kudoz, but I really don't need e-mail alerts that I've gotten another 4 points, especially when I visit the website on a daily basis).
I have to believe that many others would avail themselves of a "no notifications" option for the reasons I've outlined here. Most of us receive a great deal of e-mail that is of no interest to us. Surely proz.com can do its part to reduce that part of the burden that is under its own control, and thus make our busy lives just a little bit less hectic.
Thank you,
Bob ▲ Collapse | |

Another demonstration of the need for a "no notifications" option | Oct 18, 2008 |
Whenever someone posts a "clarification" comment on a Kudoz question, everyone who has responded to that question receives an automatic notification, even if they have not requested such a notification and even if the comments have nothing to do with the response that the receiving Answerer has offered.
Once again, this stuff results in needless Inbox clutter.
I will await your response.

Both of us do not have the same needs (I for instance want to receive KudoZ notifications when questions are closed, even automatically closed. On the other hand, I don't want to have to receive forum notifications, because I often check the "most recent posts" page - the problem is that not all "most recent posts" are showed, but this is the topic of another thread of mine)...

So I suggest that new options are added to the notifications page (profile>my settings>kudoz dashboard), such as : tick this box if you don't want to receive peer comments/questions closing notifications

These features will be implemented as soon as the required resources become available.
