Can anybody advise me as to this software? Uses/Usability/Advantages/Disadvantages etc.?

It is a practical tool to get a very rough draft, which needs to be touched up.

For German English T1 is better and more accurate.

[Systran, as to my experience, is able to get you rid of some of the typeworking. In terms of translation - rather poor unless you create your own glossaries and work with them.]

I have tested and used SYSTRAN Professional Premium v4. My review of it is at my Language Technology reviews page:

I received SYSTRAN Professional Premium v5 about a week or two ago and have not installed it yet, but I expect it to contain a lot of suggestions made concerning v4.

I have recently given a conference panel talk on Inbound vs. Outbound translation approaches (at Localization World 2004) in which I mapped all of the modules of several MT systems to how they correspond to these approaches.
