... in fact it would be nice to have more updated info on this subject (perhaps in a new thread, Laptops for 2009 or something like that.)
Thanks for posting!

yes, as Nancy was saying, it would be nice to get more updated info on this subject, pity nobody has had anything to say, yet - I might post a new 'fresh' thread.
I've had an acer for a few years now, and I've been really happy with it - before this I had a toshiba - I really like toshiba's. I didn't change brand for any particular reason - it was cheaper and suggested by a friend.
Now, though, I feel I need something more powerful ( I have a couple of Cat tools on it and want to upgrade to SDL Studio 2009, which I think uses a lot of memory, plus a few other things including Autocad, and I like to play around with movie makers) and fast - at the moment I have an Intel core duo processor (1.6GHz) and 100GB HDD - I don't know what else coz the writing's disappearing...
any suggestions? is there anything in particular I need to look for? Someone recommended an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and more than 2GHz speed. Do I need at least 4GB RAM or 3 is fine?
Thank you!!
Mara
