Does anyone know if there is a reliable software to count words in a website for translation purposes.

I use PractiCount. It does count HTML files, but I have never checked copying them in Word, for instance.

Notetab light is free Jan 15, 2003

I use Notetab, function Remove all tags, then Statistics.

Then I can close the file without saving.

CatsCradle (great pgm) will give you a word count under File... catalog.

I use webbdudget to count words in html (and most Internet formats) and to download a website (static or not too dynamic) I use Webzip which is pretty cool.

I don\'t know whether CatsCradle or Notetab are reliable in that respect, but when I was looking for a (free) word (and line) count program last year, I just couldn\'t find one that would reliably count translateable text in tags, Java code etc. WebBudget does all that and it can process and generate counting reports for entire websites, which is great when one has to translate a large number of HTML documents.
